Update on my Web Design Course

Announcements, Internet Marketing

I now have finished all the theory parts of the Web Design course and the assessments that went along with them. These assessments covered each of the three parts of the course and I have passed all of them with a top grade of Distinction in each.  The latest assessment was on using PowerPoint and as I was a complete beginner to Powerpoint when I started using it I learnt a lot.

I start a placement with a local community association on Tuesday next and will be designing and building a website to cover all their activities.  This will keep me going for a few weeks as they have a lot going on at present and have even more planned for the future.

I, as I may have mentioned in an earlier post, have decided to write an e-book on using PowerPoint to create a video.  This I have started and am progressing slowly with it.  To date I have completed the first 17 pages and I am still only on the second chapter so it looks as though it is going to be a large book.

The first 50 people to request a copy will get one FREE of charge and after that I may give a discounted price to the next XX number of requests.  Who knows by the time it is finished I may decide to give it away to everyone who wants a copy.  I haven’t decided yet exactly what way I will proceed.

The book will be useful to you if you want to learn about, and how to use, PowerPoint as I am detailing all the steps needed to create slides and then string them together with audio to make the video.  If you have seen any Camtasia videos the finished video made with PowerPoint is similar.

One main differance is that PowerPoint does not allow you to have a moving pointer as you have in Camtasia, which is a drawback, but if you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer already it saves you the expense of purchasing Camtasia.

If you would like to be one of the first to get a copy of this e-book leave me a comment below and state you want a copy.  I will add your name and email to the request list and notify you when the book is finished and where you can get your copy from.

Richard

What Have I Been Doing Recently

Internet Marketing, Updates

I haven’t updated this blog for a couple of weeks as I have been busy trying to write my ebook which is coming along slowly, oh so slowly, and I was away with over 100 other caravan outfits for the Easter break.  We had a ball of a time and everyone enjoyed themselves.

I start back on my webdesign course tomorrow and expect to have my final assessment next week.  After that I go on placement for 13 weeks to gain practical hands on training and experience in a business setting instead of a classroom.  I can only hope that it will be as enjoyable as the classroom sessions have been.

During this period I have ongoing assessments and at the end will have a City and Guilds VRQ Qualification in website design.

My Twitter following is growing steadily and I have today received my cop of Mike Filsaime’s Butterfly Marketing 2.0 course, but I haven’t even opened it yet as I want to be able to study it when I have the time to do so in one session rather than piecemeal.

It may take me more than one session to fully understand the programme and I will give it as long as it takes for me to fully understand and implement what it tells me to do.  There are 8 CD Roms, 2 DVDs and 2 Manuels in the package so there is a lot of information to go through.
