Well here we are again. I have had the look of the blog modified and hope you like the new look.
From Google Analytics I see that I am starting to get more visitors to the blog but less than 10% of them leave a comment. Any one else in the same boat? Or do you all get a load of comments on your blogs?
My Web Design Course is moving along steadily the first part being how to set up, clean a computer and associated equipment, and generally dealing with file structure and installing / removing files from the hard disk etc, all stuff that I already knew. The time allowed for this section of the course is a minimum of 60 hours, approximately 3 weeks, so the fact that I am about 2 weeks ahead of time means that I have been able, during the course, to look for other products or things to do. My first test on the course is tomorrow morning so wish me luck.
Assuming I pass I will then move onto the next part of the course which involves using Powerpoint to product presentations, videos, slides etc. Again the time allowed for this is 60 hours and again I think I will move faster than that. Part 3 then is website design and building using Dreamweaver.
I will write an ebook about each section of the course as I move forward so the first part will be started very soon. If you leave me a comment and your email I will send you a copy before I publish it generally. Anyone who is willing to constructively critise the first draft please let me know.
I have been looking at ebay as a means of getting some income and any suggestions for physical products to sell there would be welcome.
I am not as active as I should be on the social networking sites but as I had absolutely no experience of them before Alex Jeffreys training started this is maybe not surprising. I will try to do better in the future.
However I must be doing something right as in the last few days I have had people following me with lists of followers in excess of 25,000. This means that the few tweets I do are being picked up by I estimate at least 200,000 people. Now applying the fact that these are spread all over the world and some may actually be in bed when I tweet using the 80 : 20 rule I can only reckon a maximum of 20% will be around to see the tweet and of that 20% only another 20% will actually read it. Thus if you do the math 8,000 people will read the post. If I can get 20% of them to take action I will have a mailing list of 1,600 instead of the present abismal figure that I have.
I may be, and probably am, being very optimistic in the above calaulations but if we use 10% instead of 20% for each stage this would still result in 200 people for my mailing list. I can but hope.
That’s all for now.
Richard
