Getting Sidetracked

Alex Jeffreys, Internet Marketing, Updates

I have been totally sidetracked from progress in moving forward over the last day or two, this has been because I have been getting inundated with e mails from all over the place. At least 100 per day  most of which after a quick scan I bin, but even that is taking up too much time.

To try and cut down on this I have signed up for a free email monitoring service from www.boxby.com

Boxby monitors your incoming email and if it comes from someone you have not previously approved gives the email a score from 1 – 10 and places it into a waiting area.  From there you can access all the waiting emails and approve the sender if you wish.  To check out the system without any obligation, go to www.boxby.com this is not an affiliate like as the system is completely free to all users.

I don’t know about the rest of Alex Jeffreys students but I am getting withdrawal symptons due to no sessions whilst Alex is on holiday.

This breathing space is giving Alex a well earned break and allows the students, who were maybe falling behind, time to catch up.  It has given me time to read, and watch some of the information I have received in the numerous ebooks or videos I have filling my hard disc and also allowing me to apply what I think is appropriate.

From Monday 2nd February I will be starting a 6 month full time VRQ course (9.30am – 3.00pm) in web design and hopefully as the course goes on I will then be able to write an ebook of my own about the subject, maybe even more than one. More information on this will follow as I get into the course.

I am still adjusting my twitter following as I need the space to follow those with large numbers who are starting to follow me ie 3,000 + + +.  Maximum so far has been one guy with over 12,000 followers who was following similar numbers.  I also get some followers with only a few people following them and maybe only 1 update on their feed, these people I do not follow back.

An Update on the Last Few Days

Alex Jeffreys, Internet Marketing

I have been updating my blogroll to put students who have commented on my posts here onto the front page.

I have also spent time removing some of those I am following on Twitter who are not following me back, I decided on who to remove based on how many followers they had and how many they were following.  This became necessary when I started getting people with lists of followers over 5,000.  One of these had a list of 12,000 + following him and he was following similar numbers.

I have joined a Free advertising system called Hits 2 You with which I am expecting to drive some extra traffic and thus get some upsales of Alex’s book you can also sign up here http://tinyurl.com/akg2pf

I also found some free mindmapping software called Discover Freemind and this will help me and you to make our plans for the future.  It can be downloaded here  http://tinyurl.com/cva5o6

Bob the teacher has written an article on setting up your profile for social networking sites which I think you will find interesting.  You can find it on his blog at  http://askbobtheteacher.com/blog/power-profile/

Please don’t skip through here without leaving your constructive comments Good or Bad below.

Many Thanks.

Richard
