David Walker Webinar Module 5 – Part 3

Internet Marketing, Webinars

This is the third part of the information I have gained from David Walker’s fifth webinar in a series of 6 training webinars. It was called The Traffic Jam and covered the various Types and sources of Traffic.  These included the following:

  1. Free Traffic
  2. Paid Traffic
  3. Content Based Traffic Generation – Blogs / Article Marketing / Forums
  4. Social Bookmarking
  5. Video Marketing
  6. Organic Search Engine Traffic
  7. Using Your Email List To Leverage More Traffic

The reason for generating all the traffic you can is to get people into your sales funnel using as many of the methods listed above as you can.

3. Content Based Traffic Generation – Article Marketing

Submit short articles (250 – 500 words) to article directories of which there are hundreds available.  The two most popular are Ezine Articles and Go Articles.

There are two areas of focus for these articles:

  1. Quality readable content – do not submit content already on your blog.
  2. Your article should be keyword focused for search engine optimisation.

You can use Google to generate keyword ideas go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordTool External.

When you select a keyword check it has low competition by typing the keyword in inverted commas into Google and if it has less than 500,000 competing pages use it.

When you have your keyword write an article around it, add a link to your blog / squeeze page in bio box.  Then find more keywords and write more articles around them.

3. Content Based Traffic Generation – Forums

Find at least one busy forum in your niche by typing “Your Niche” + forum into Google eg if your niche is baby foods you would type baby foods forum into google.

In the forum you will find lots of like minded people interested in you and also a great source of blog material.

Join the forum, introduce yourself, add value to existing threads and start your own threads.

What is a thread you ask?  Wikipedia defines it as:

A threaded discussion is an electronic discussion (such as one via e-mail, e-mail list, bulletin board, newsgroup, or Internet forum) in which the software aids the user by visually grouping messages. Messages are usually grouped visually in a hierarchy by topic. A set of messages grouped in this way is called a topic thread or simply “thread”. A discussion forum, e-mail client or news client is said to have “threaded topics” if it groups messages on the same topic together for easy reading in this manner. Moreover, threaded discussions typically allow users to reply to particular posting within a topic’s thread. As a result, there can be a hierarchy of discussions within the thread topic.

Don’t forget to add a link to your blog in the Sig (Signature) file

This brings me to the end of part 3 of Module 5 from David Walker’s webinar series,  I will continue with Social Bookmarking in part 4 shortly. Any comments will be welcome. If you wish to receive notification when a new post appears sign up to receive these notifications.
